IN HONOR OF MY DAD

This site is dedicated to my dad. Dad exhibited perseverance through hardship. He was my encouragement and my hero. He was a living example of grace and gratitude. Thanks Dad!

Growing up I had some incredible opportunities to learn photography. My dad was a professional photographer. Somehow he was able to pass on his passion for photography without any pressure to follow his footsteps. Though I chose a different vocation than dad, I have always marveled at his abilities and passion for his trade.

Dad was forced into retirement in his 50's due to an eye diease called Macular Degeneration. He was declared legally blind and had to forfeit his career- but he never gave up his passion. As his eyesight began to fail dad purchased a few Minolta 35mm camera bodies and lenses. Though a bit removed from Linhoff and Hasselblad days, they gave him a new opportunity to continue to take pictures. Dad was so grateful for autofocus cameras.

The picture you see is one taken the summer before dad died. I miss dad a bunch but there are three things that dad has passed on that will always be a part of who I am:

1. Love for God.
2. Love for family
3. Passion for photography

I could only dream of attaining dad's ability to capture the reflections of God's creation. At the least I want to honor him by my efforts and capture some pieces of life through the lens. Hopefully this site reflects some of dad's passion and a reflection of the splendor of God.
